Goals

  • Find and configure local printers (USB, parallel?)
  • Find and configure remote printers
  • Test functionality
  • Set default parameters (per device?)
  • Set default printer

Non Goals

  • Management of remote print queues
  • Management of local print queues
  • Advanced management of print jobs

  • Sharing a printer (Privacy & Sharing might be a better place)

Discussion

Since the primarily interaction with Printers is not the settings panel it may be useful to specify a bit about them in order to assess their relationship.

  • Printing is used primary (solely?) through applications
