Some notes on frequent requests

You forgot your password

You can reset your password by going to https://bugzilla.gnome.org and clicking on the Forgot your password? link. On the following page enter your email address in the text field at the bottom of the page. Follow the instructions and you will receive shortly by email. Note that your login name is actually the email address you registered with, not your real name.

Merging of Bugzilla accounts

We frequently get requests about merging user's Bugzilla accounts into a single account. With the current version of Bugzilla this is not natively supported; merging of accounts is not easily possible. We ask you to log in with your 'old' account and note all the bugs you reported. Use the My Bugs and Patches search at the very bottom. Then log in with your 'new' account and subscribe to all those bugs. In order to disable all email for your 'old' account, please refer to Stopping all Bugzilla email on this page.

If you really want to have two or more accounts merged, then please file a new bug report for the product bugzilla.gnome.org and the component user accounts. Log in with the account credentials you would like to keep and open the bug report, plus comment on the same report with the old account to prove that you want them to be merged. Please use a bug report summary like "Request for account merging".

Maintainers: ssh to bugzilla.gnome.org, sudo -u bugzilla -s, then contrib/merge-users.pl $ACCOUNT1 $ACCOUNT2, you end up with $ACCOUNT2.

Removal/Deletion of a Bugzilla account

Bugzilla currently does not support account removal. See the upstream report for details.

Stopping all Bugzilla email

If you want to stop receiving Bugzilla email, log in and go to Preferences->Email Preferences, click the "Disable all mail" button and click the "Submit changes" button at the bottom.

We could disable your account but that won't stop the mail.

Changing your email address

In order to change your email address, please log in, go to Preferences->Name and Password and fill in your password and your new email address. An email will be sent to both your old and new email addresses. Then you have to confirm the change of your email address. You can only confirm using the URL given in the email sent to the new email address.

You can cancel this request, of course.
