There is a problem with the dash in all of gnome's versions. The more applications you add to the dash, the smaller their icons get. So the dash is limited to about 7, 8 applications before it starts to lose the graphical quality. It would be better if dash would not resize icons by default, instead start to stretch down in the same way the dash elongates in Ubuntu.
