Releases

The purpose of this page is to have anyone and everyone know where Tomboy is headed. The existence of an item under a certain release does not guarantee that it will be completed in the specified GNOME Release.

If you have an idea that you'd like to see Tomboy implement, please add it to the Tomboy/PlaceForNewIdeas page. If you are a developer and would like to implement a feature listed here or there (Tomboy/PlaceForNewIdeas), please email the Tomboy mailing list with your intentions.

In general Tomboy will follow the Gnome development schedule.

0.5.0 (16 November 2006)

0.5.0 is the first development release of Tomboy for GNOME 2.17.x and helps us inch closer in completing features for the GNOME 2.18 release.

This release (0.5.0) has some cool new features and bugfixes as described in the NEWS file:

New note pinning in main menu.
New integrated table of contents and search.
New find bar for searching inside a single note.
New Bugzilla plugin (David Trowbridge).
New Tomboy icons (Jakub Steiner). So long, angry cheese!
Timestamped logging to ~/.tomboy.log.
Export to HTML now uses Gtk.
FileChooserDialog.
Number of notes in main menu configurable in GConf.
Removed old gtk-sharp dependency, uses gtk-sharp2 now.

0.4.1 (7 September 2006)

This release (0.4.1) was an emergency release containing only a few small bugfixes. Most obvious of these is the one related to Gnome Panel rendering the applet's icon at very large size.

0.4.0 (5 Sept 2006)

0.4.0 is the first Tomboy release to be considered as part of the GNOME 2.16 desktop environment. This is really exciting, and I can't wait to see what the larger exposure and improved release planning, documentation, and translations will do for the future of Tomboy.

A special thanks goes out in this release to Sanford Armstrong, whose hard work on the Sticky Notes import plugin helped make Tomboy's inclusion into GNOME a reality.

This release (0.4.0) has a lot of great new features and bugfixes as described in the NEWS file:

Support building with Gtk# 2.
New Sticky Notes import plugin (Sanford Armstrong).
Note loading code cleanups (Sebastian Rittau).
Use Tango icons by default.
Allow icon theming.
Support TOMBOY_PATH environment variable.
Remove dbus-sharp dependency, require dbus 0.90.
