Description

The IM, Contacts, Social hackfest is a gathering of people working on IM/contacts oriented applications and frameworks.

Agenda, goals

  • Improve the existing chat integration in gnome-shell
  • Design and plan how we could improve the IM integration into the shell (calls, file transfers, invitations, presence, etc).
  • Design and plan the integration of contacts into the Shell overview
  • Design and plan the new Contact application
  • Design and plan the web accounts pane (IM accounts, social services, single sign one)
  • Discussion the need and design of a 'conversation' centric application
  • DanielleMadeley: Design a reusable contact chooser for applications (aka telepathy-gtk, folks-gtk, or whatever)

  • BastienNocera: pic.twitter.com support in libsocialweb, using GOA in libsocialweb

See Hackfests/IMContactsSocial2011/Tasks for a full list of tasks.

Measuring your success

One of the main goal of this hackfest is to allow people from different teams to met. So at the end of the hackfest each one should have a better understanding of the different technologies involved.

We'll have a list of action points for 3.2, each one having someone in charge of its success and a list of people who are going to contribute to it.
