Project Status
We have just released Gnome-Mud 0.11! Some of the new features in this build include
- Proper telnet support including telnet options: TTYPE, NAWS, ECHO, CHARSET, and EOR
- Full MSP support (Mud Sound Protocol)
- ZMP support (core package only at the moment, are there other packages? Let us know!)
- Separate input history for all connections.
- New input widget that dynamically resizes based on amount of text entered.
- SOCKS proxy support (version 4 and 5)
- Full encoding support including the ability to negotiate text encoding (if the server supports the CHARSET telnet option)
- Triggers and aliases with perl compatible regular expression matching.
- Support for Profiles.
- No dependencies on deprecated libraries! (yay!)
- Nice new icon
There are a few regressions from 0.10.7. Keybindings, python plugin support, and variables are sadly not included in this release but will introduced by the next major release.
Development plans
Roadmap
- Rework dialogs to make them less horrid.
- Working on getting MCCPv2 support (currently in development).
- MXP
- New text widget that will enable the fancy things MXP can do.
- Plugin API refactor (lots of work to be done here)
- New Automapper
UI redesign for Mud List and Mud Connections (possibly a GtkIconView for Mud Connections?)
- Refactor our preference handling code to be less voodoo-esque.
Love tasks
Here you can find a list of GNOME-MUD bugs or tasks that are suitable for new contributors (please ask the maintainers before starting a task, or add a note in bugzilla).
- Auto-reconnect
- User definable button bar
- Customizable status line
- Tab completion for each connection.
- Make it run on Windows
