GNOME 3.0 Bangalore Hackfest | GNOME.Asia Summit 2011

Introduction

We will be holding the forth GNOME.Asia in 2011 before the GNOME 3.0 release. The whole summit will include a 5-days private Hackfest and a 2-days open-to-public conference.

Our objectives are to get together GNOME contributors to work on, promote and celebrate the GNOME 3.0 release as well as leverage on the GNOME 3.0 release to build a bigger GNOME community in Asia. We invited the GNOME release team, documentation team, marketing team and those contributors who will be involved with the actual mechanics of the GNOME 3.0 launch as well as those contributors living in Asia.

Date and time

The whole summit will include a 5-days hackfest and a 2 day conference.

  • Hackfest: See Hackfests/GNOME.Asia2011

  • Conference Date: April 2 -3 2011 (Saturday and Sunday) - 8:30am to 6:00pm local time

  • Conference Venue: Dayananda Sagar Educational Institutions, Shivage Malleshwara Hills, Kumaraswamy Layout, Bangalore 560 078, Karnataka (India)

Objective

  • To work on, promote and celebrate the launch of GNOME 3.0
  • To leverage on this big GNOME 3.0 event to widely promote GNOME in Asia in different segments

Targets

  • Private Hackfest: GNOME marketing, release teams and developers
  • Open-to-public Conference: GNOME contributors and anybody who is interested to celebrate the launch of GNOME 3.0, press
