BidiAssist

BidiAssist or Bidirectional Assistant is a plugin for Gedit that helps users to manage their bidirectional (plain) texts easier.

Features

Here are current features:

• Paragraph Direction

  • Left to Right Sets direction of selected paragraphs to left-to-right

  • Right to Left Sets direction of selected paragraphs to right-to-left

  • Clear Removes direction of selected paragraphs

• Embed Text

  • Left to Right Embeds selected text as left-to-right

  • Right to Left Embeds selected text as right-to-left

• Override Text

  • Left to Right Overrides selected text as left-to-right

  • Right to Left Overrides selected text as right-to-left

• Clear Bidirectional Characters Removes all bidirectional characters in selected text

Install

You should just copy plugin files (from appropriate bziped tarball) to ~/.gnome2/gedit/plugins/ or /usr/lib/gedit-2/plugins/.
