Boston Summit 2010

The 10th annual Boston Summit will be held on the weekend of November 6th-8th in Boston, MA, USA.

This year we are piggy backing the Linux Plumbers conference which is also being held in Boston. The event will be held at MIT's Tang Centre (same as last year) and the new Media Lab.

  • Saturday and Sunday (6th-7th)

    • 3rd floor of the Tang Centre - rooms E51-315, E51-325, E51-335, E51-345, E51-372 and E51-376
  • Monday (8th)

    • 6th floor of the Media Lab - Event space 674, Lecture hall 633 (until 4pm), Winter Garden and Silverman Skyline

The Boston Summit is a three-day hackfest for GNOME developers and contributors. It is not primarily aimed at users or new contributors, but if you want to jump right into the deep end, it's a fantastic way to meet everyone and get involved. Unlike traditional conferences, the Boston Summit is all about getting developers together and getting things done. While there are some non-hacking sessions, they are geared heavily towards many-to-many, interactive discussion and planning, rather than one-to-many presentations.

Travel

This year the travel committee has a limited budget to send a couple of people to the Summit. Please go to the Travel Committee page for instructions on how to submit a request for sponsorship. If you require a visa to travel to the United States, the travel committee will also issue you a letter inviting you to the conference. This letter should be submitted with your visa application to the appropriate consulate or visa agency.
